One Size Fits Most Women

Caya is a single-size contraceptive barrier device designed to fit a wide range of women (80%). It is easy to use and offers discreet contraceptive protection.

Caya: A New-Age Diaphragm

Caya is the modern take on traditional diaphragms: the old fashion yet effective birth control method featuring a circular silicon dome inserted into the vaginal canal before intercourse to block sperm from entering the cervix.

There was a time when diaphragms were the most popular birth control available (think safe, effective, discreet birth control that is comfortable for both partners and easy enough to use.) But the advent of hormonal birth control and IUDs, coupled with the rise of the powerful pharmaceutical industry, pushed diaphragms into oblivion.

For some, the diaphragm retained its appeal. A growing number of women adamantly refuse to subject themselves to the myriad of side effects and health risks of hormonal birth control. Another under-represented portion of women has no choice but to avoid hormones for medical reasons.

The Caya diaphragm (called SLICs diaphragm during testing stages) created a new-age diaphragm revolution. Caya re-envisioned a perfect diaphragm, eliminating common complaints of difficulty removing the device and the need for extremely precise sizing. The new Caya diaphragm is easier to use, more comfortable, and anatomically designed to fit a wide range of women.

Single Size Revolution

There are seven typical diaphragm sizes, and when using a traditional diaphragm, a precise fitting is essential to effective use. Using the wrong size diaphragm results in drastically less effective contraception. The fact that diaphragm size changes when you gain or lose weight, give birth, or go through other vaginal procedures further complicates the process of ensuring you are using the correct size device.

The Caya diaphragm replaces this difficult sizing system with one single size device. Caya is not a one size fits all diaphragm. Rather, once confirming you fall within the size range of 65mm to 80mm, you can use Caya without worrying about frequent refitting.

About 80% of women fit into the range of sizes that are compatible with Caya. Women who do not fit in this range must use either a traditional diaphragm or a cervical cap.

For women who are cannot find a health practitioner to fit them for a diaphragm or a Caya diaphragm, FemCap cervical cap is the only option that does not need to be sized at all.

Upgraded Design

The Caya diaphragm was completely redesigned to make an easier to use, more comfortable, and more anatomically accurate diaphragm.

Flexible Rim: Breakthroughs in design and technology resulted in a contoured outer rim that conforms more accurately to the vaginal canal. The rim is light and easy to fold for insertion, yet flexible and strong enough to provide a secure fit.

Grip Dimples: Raised dots the sides of the Caya rim guide you towards holding the diaphragm in your hand so that with just the slightest bit of pressure it shapes itself into a narrow, tampon-like cylinder shape. The two grooves that are created within the silicone when the Caya is folded hold the contraceptive gel. This allows for both the Caya and the gel to easily slip into the vagina.

Purple Silicone Cup: The silicone cup is highly durable while still being unbelievably thin and almost silky, It is comfortable and almost always completely undiscernable during intercourse. And of course, the purple color is way more appealing than the classic medical white.

Removal Dome: Caya incorporates a small dome at the front of the device that serves as a hook for easier to removal. This is a huge upgrade on traditional diaphragms, where users often struggled get a secure grip and comfortably remove the diaphragm.

Increased Accessibility

The reality is that many doctors are not knowledgeable about the importance of choosing non-hormonal birth control, and do not encourage diaphragm use.

Add that to previous more difficult to insert diaphragms, and many women were not confident in their ability to use a diaphragm successfully. But in controlled studies, Caya has a very high rate of unaided correct insertion.

Because correct use greatly impacts the contraceptive efficiency of diaphragms, Caya's ease of use is a huge victory for natural birth control and barrier contraception. Caya should increase the number of women who are confident in replacing their hormonal birth control with this all natural, highly effective, side effect free birth control alternative.

Important Notes

The Caya® Diaphragm does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases.

The Caya diaphragm should not be used in cases of strong lowering/prolapse of the pelvic floor/uterus

CAYA CONTRACEPTIVE DIAPHRAGM GEL FOR USE WITH DIAPHRAGMS

About this item:

The hormone-free contraception

Caya® Gel is a contraceptive gel for hormone-free contraception with the Caya® or Singa® diaphragm. By means of cellulose it forms an additional physical barrier in front of the cervix.

  • A natural alternative to spermicide.
  • For use with Caya, Singa diaphragms, and FemCap.
  • Minimizes risk of irritation and infections.
  • Vegan, dairy free, and gluten free.
  • Class IIa Medical Device, made in Europe.

Don't let chemical laden nonoxynol-9 spermicide hinder your goal of all natural contraception. All diaphragms and cervical caps must be used with a contraceptive gel— choose Caya Gel instead of N-9 based spermicide to avoid abrasive chemicals and skin irritation.

Caya Gel is available without a prescription. Large 60g tube provides more applications than leading typical spermicide brands.

Caya Gel Natural Spermicide Alternative

Caya Gel contraceptive gel is a nonoxynol 9 free spermicide alternative to be used in conjunction with a diaphragm or cervical cap. It is also marketed under the ContraGel brand name, both products being identical in composition.

Despite the lack of harsh chemicals Caya Gel is effective on a number of levels.

- The thick gel provides the added seal necessary for effective barrier contraceptive use.

- The viscous consistency creates a a physical barrier to the cervix.

- The lactic acid reduces ph-value of vaginal mucus making it inhospitable to sperm.

Before inserting a diaphragm or cervical cap into the vagina cavity, about 3 ml of gel is deposited into the cavity of the diaphragm or the brim of the cervical cap. Then, the diaphragm or cervical cap is folded and inserted into the vagina.

The tip of the cervix should be resting in the gel, and the barrier should be completely covering the cervix. As such, the cervix is covered and closed twice: first by the silicone membrane of the barrier, then by the gel. These two physical barriers prevent sperm from entering the cervix. If sperm does by-passed the silicone barrier, comes in contact with the gel and can not move into the cervix and uterus. Please note the instructions for use on each individual diaphragm or cervical cap to ensure proper usage.

Caya Gel formula is water-based. It is effective with silicone and natural latex rubber barriers.

Is Caya Gel A Spermicide?

The medical description of spermicide states that it must contain nonoxynol-9 as the active chemical component in order to be considered a spermicide (or an alternative microbicide). Caya Gel, of course, does not contain N-9, so it is not considered a spermicide in the traditional sense.

It does, however, perform the same role as spermicide with equal or superior efficiency of traditional spermicide.

Dimensions

suitable for M9 threaded tubes

lnstruction for use:

Thoroughly wash your hands.

1. Fill the applicator with the gel or cream. Screw the applicator onto the tube and carefully squeeze the gel or cream out of the tube until the indicated dosage mark is reached.

Important information:

• Do not use gel or cream applicators during pregnancy. There is a risk of injury if handled incorrectly, as the area around the cervix is very sensitive in pregnant women. Ask your doctor for more information.

• Do not administer during menstruation. Talk to your doctor if you are shortly due to have a period at the start of treatment.

• The applicator fits tubes with 9 mm thread, e. g. Caya® Gel or Contragel® green.
